Performance:   Sonics:
After several listens to this album I gotta say its pretty remarkable. This is a recording from the nearly 60's and considered an all time great blues classic. I cant disagree with this.

Its a very short album....approximately 35 minutes long but filled with incredible energy and passion. So for those wanting more bang for your buck.....dont worry to much. From start to finish this is a true classic.

I was a little concerned after hearing the first track as it seemed a little subdued to me. But this definitely changed once track two started. This recording captures the raw unbridled live intensity of this event very well. The audience is screaming loudly but never interferes with the music. They are constantly talking back to Mr. King and at one point he laughs at this. We can tell the audience would rather be no where else on earth on this night.

To be sure there are a few tracks where the drums or the bass are receded a little but most of the tracks are fabulous. The horn section sounds great too.

But Mr. Kings voice is a marvel and captured flawlessly here. Song after song you can hear his dynamic powerful voice rendered gorgeously. He is singing his ass off.....no doubt about it. And its sincere as well.
His guitar is closely miked as well and wails beautifully. Track 7.WORRY WORRY features B.B. changing his voice during the latter part of the song to where he is almost wailing. Very impressive.
Even when King is addressing the audience between tracks.....even this sounds very lifelike.

If you want to hear a voice that is powerful and laden with raw emotion..then this is the disc to own. He is a great blues singer.

Great job.....yet again......from the Japanese mastering tech's.
A great album mastered very well in dsd.

I own alot of shm-sacd's and this is one of the better titles to be sure.
Highly recommended.
