This is definately one of the best sounding shm-sacd's. I never heard any redbook cd-version, so I can't compare with them. But this one sounds clean, crisp, detailed. I would recommend this disc to everyone. Even non-10cc fans should give this one a chance. You will be amazed by the sound quality! I have seen many 5 star rated discs, that not sound half as good as this one. If you haven't bought any of the Japanese shm-sacd's yet, start with this one (+ The Who)! This is demo-material. Many friends were sceptical about high-end hi-fi and superiority of sacd to normal cd's and lossless files. But after hearing this one, they all want to throw away their ipod-docks, and buy a traditional hi-fi system with sacd-player. Highly recommended, a must have!

I have both the MFSL and DCC test-pressing redbooks. While I didn’t test the Mo-Fi, I did compare the Hoffman-mastered DCC with this SHM-SACD. The results were interesting. The DCC was just a tad warmer, with more rounded vocals, but the SHM was decidedly more detailed and transparent, allowing a deeper view into the masterful production. Both discs were quite dynamic, but the SHM-SACD was quicker on transients, with more “snap.” The DCC certainly isn’t bad, but the SACD is just on another level. One of these days, I’d like to pull out the Mo-Fi, which is sealed, and see how it stacks up. But, for now, this SACD is the ultimate digital pressing, in my view. The way the opening synths on “I’m Not in Love” rise up and swirl around the speakers is awesome. Gave me goosebumps!
