Beautiful music, great performances, top notch sound!

This is another fantastic stereo only SACD by Sony, with three players that all come from different worlds but get along very well, and wonderful guests in James Taylor and Alison Krauss (her voice is angelic, listen to "Slumber my darling").

Yo-Yo Ma's playing is not as sublime as it can be in his Tango and Brazil discs, but his ability to match and melt with anyone and any style is quite unique I believe.

Mark O'Connor is playing his style of music, and very well of course.

Edgar Meyer is my favorite. The way he masters his double bass is simply incredible! To get that sound and technical perfection (including intonation) on a double bass is quite something I assure you (I am a cellist myself).

The recording quality is very pure, the voices are beautiful, and I can't help telling you that if you want your friends to hear the thrilling bass of your system, this disc should be along with the best organ recordings!

And the music goes from making you shake your body to pure magic. A must have!

This is a beautifully recorded sacd done in complete dsd. It also shows the merit of sacd technology. Instruments are very real sounding. There is warmth and ambiance to the sound and it has a 3 dimentional quality to the instruments.

It is a little "Americana" in feel and it also has a down home country essence as well.even with the cello. There are also two vocal pieces and the voices are rendered very real indeed.

This is one of the best sacd's I own for sound quality. All three instruments sound like themselves and this doesn't happen as much as it should with digital recording.

The only thing you should take into consideration is if you like this sort of music. I do.

It is easy to relax to this sacd.

Highly recommended.

I've owned this for 18 months, and have listened to it about 3 times. I bought it because of its rave reviews, but I don't have a good enough musical taste to appreciate this. Just too many strings and no drums if I remember correctly. I listened to it the other day while I was paying bills. It helped sooth me as I discovered my wife's charges. Great as background music. Some say this SACD is outstanding.
