That would go against the single album ethos the Japanese seem to have with their classical re-issues. Of course, with the original cover repros etc it's all lovely, but the prices are hard to swallow, too much for me, except for the odd, very favourite discs.

I'm just waiting for them to issue something broken across 10 discs because it originally came out on 78.

LOL, I'll bet you'll see that: the Szell/Casals Dvorak Cello Concerto. Gramophone still rates it the best. Just wait....

Since the single~layered SHM~SACDs are capable of accomodating well over 2 hours of stereo content, perhaps future titles will take advantage of its storage capabilities.

"Nice price - 2 albums on one disc" SACDs, not going to happen on the japanese market.

The main reason why they sell SHM-SACDs is to be able to justify a 50% higher price than for "plain" SACDs, so they obviously don't care at all about the budget concerns of SACD buyers.

With prices of SHM~SACDs approaching the $60 (US) mark with s/h, and with all the available space on single~layered stereo only discs wouldn't it be prudent for Universal/Japan to include more than one selection on each disc and thus make the "investment" more bearable?

Since the US$ has dropped so much in value, your just going to have to realise that everything is not going to be as cheap anymore.

Americans have such different expectations from everyone else about what things should cost.

Be happy you got to enjoy a dream currency for 50 years. Maybe China will start outsourcing jobs to the US one day!

Oh, very unattractive, SnaggS. I mean your comment, not the self-portrait you posted.

Come on, talk about first world problems. Its embarassing. Nobody in the rest of the world has had as big cars, houses or buying power, or food as the USA, as cheap. The complaining sounds like a spoilt kid who can only eat 1litre of ice cream instead or 2.

The man doesn't care for Yanks. Fair enough, although a narrow perspective.

Well, Snaggie Pooh........besides bigger cups and MORE soda, what's wrong with cheaper SACDs?

Wonder if our New York City Mayor Bloomberg will also ban double D cups from buxom females and order breast reductions, as well???????????

BTW, great poster...........soda does indeed cause zits! That unfortunate chap probably lives at home with his mum in the basement.

The Japanese retreads of old recordings are priced rather high in any currency, I would say, notwithstanding the ruminations on the falling dollar by our anti-American Aussie friend, SnaggS.
