How many 14 year old girls even own a SACD player ?

They might as well have brought it out on mini disc and cassette.

I don't think in the '90's fans of Jeff Buckley were 14. How do you get that idea? He was a serious artist. And even if they were that age, they are now 20 years older so rich enough to purchase a SACD player.

People like you are the reason well mastered cds and SACD's are getting more and more a case of interest of just pensionados. Something you see also by the artists audiophile labels always are choosing. So boring mostly....

That's why I'm pleased with Jeff Buckley a.o.!

I'm a 41 year old male with an SACD player, this album is terrific.

I wonder if you're confusing Jeff Buckley with someone else. He's been dead since 1997 so 14 year old girls most likely have never heard of him, nevermind 24 year old girls.

Bizarre post.

Yes bizarre and unnecessary post.
Did quick research, Jeff died of accidental drowning 1997.
I am listening to this album on Tidal now, not that bad.

A few people here might need to invest in a sense of humour.

When this came out it was popular with teenage girls. Very few males would have been caught dead with a copy on any format.

As an album it rode on the back of a few covers with original material being poor to average at best.

Considering Jeff Buckley never made an album of original material or indeed covers which were better than the originals - he's another example of marketing power over substance.

As someone with over 5000 albums in my collection I'm very proud to say this one is not among them.

I suppose the "joke" went over my head, as well, tdunster, as I consider GRACE a solid effort and having over 10k albums in my collection, I am proud to have included Grace and consider it a solid purchase.

Though it wasn't critically well received upon its initial release, it did gain a cult following over time and even made Rolling Stones 500 BEST albums of all time poll (@ #303).... (not that that means anything).

Perhaps his untimely death added to the mystique surrounding Grace, his ONLY studio album, but I think his voice WAS special and perhaps, in time, he might've found a true voice as an original tunesmith.

The music sounds better once you learn he died young.

I did make mention of that in my post but does the same rationale apply to James Dean's acting career, as well, Tom?

Montgomery Clift's, yes, Dean's, no.
