This one's a sleeper. A soft trumpet with various female vocals including Diana Krall. It's soft and romantic.

I have to agree with Tom's assessment of this one. You've got pretty darn good sonics and a rather stellar cast of female jazz singers such as Cassandra Wilson, Jane Monheit, Dianne Reeves and Diana Krall.
Terrence's trumpet is clearly rendered whether playing sharply or muted, drumming by Eric Harland is steady, as is Derek Nievergelt's bass playing. Piano and Tenor are both solid and while nobody will confuse these guys with Miles, John, Bill, Art, and Paul, this is an SACD that is well worth the $18. It's only a single layer, but the Sony engineers did a rather nice job originally.
Again, as Tom said, this is a worthy sleeper disc.
Thanks for reading, Chris Garrett

stereo sonics: : dull, no dynamics, airiness and brilliance; one of the worst SACDs I know; great pity about the good music

Reviewed in stereo. Excellent music and performance .. accompanied (or accompanying) the who's who of the soul/jazz Divas. IMHO the music straddles a number of styles and agree with the first 2 reviewers and not sure at all about dull, no dynamics, airiness or brilliance. Thanks Zeus ... 'Thou shall not review in one sentence'... Worth every penny (or whatever you currency denomination is) and enjoy the music ... Cheers,
