Hi,
they have issued an SACD that is not OK. All layers seem to have a 100Hz low pass filter applied!!!
I'm expecting to get a new version of this SACD but take care not to buy these records before they have been replaced with fully functional ones w/o the filter. Is there no quality control ... ... more |

Ok,
I understand many people don't consider this kind of easy listening jazz worth listening ... and I think I had the same predudice when listening to this record for the first time.

Yes, this is a excellent R&B album from Opus3. The style is, however, very original because all instruments are not really typical for this kind of music (from USA). I further like the excellent style how Peder af Ugglas handles guitar on this SACD. This possibly is the best blues record I have ... more |

This is a very good recording and it clearly demontrates the benefits of multichannel reproduction. Opus3 has, again, captured the ambience in this church with great skill.

This is a multichannel record for purists. They claim have recorded the material using Blumlein stereo microphone + a separate microphone for bass. BluRay Audio discs will be returned to the seller if there is no simultaneous video content with audio. BluRay Audio discs will be confused with the actual BluRay discs ... not with CDs ever.
My guess is that this kind of discs will not be distributed widely but they will be sold in the same specialist shops that sell other marginal discs ... more |

some people in this discussion forum don't understand the importance of SACD multichannel playback.
Actually, I believe that this format would be dead like DVD-A if we did not have all the multichannel
classical music in SACD format. This really is a life and death question for SACD.

Yes, I'm also using an SPL meter and I usually set the rear channels about 2dB lower than the main channels. Just seems to work well that way.
