A classic finally rears it head after seven years of waiting. This one is pointless. Unless you have to have their cover of "My Girl" their is no reason to own it. I will say, however, that I feel that the mono of "Mother's Little Helper" is far from cruddy. In fact I feel it bests the stereo mix as it isn't drenched in reverb and the mono mix is more powerful ... more |

This one has a special spot as it was the first Stones album I ever bought many years ago (used with the octagonal cover). This one sounds very, very good. It's nice to have the stereo mix of "Paint It Black" available again (also on the U.S. version of "Aftermath"). The only gripes I have is that ... more |

I do have an original UK pressed London of this and this SACD does better it, but I am curious as to why there are no stereo tracks on this one. Not that the mono is bad (in some cases it's preferable). Could be that some of the tracks recorded at Chess were never mixed to stereo as were others, ... more |

This is one that I waited with baited breath for. I'd grown up with a well used US vinyl that I bought in the late '70's but had wanted to hear the original UK version.
