I was NOT prepared to like this album (which later turned to TRUE LOVE) but 12 cuts later, I was absolutely blown away by this blues extravaganza, stupendously recorded in pure DSD. Another outstanding multi~channel SACD from SONY. I am NOT a huge fan of Andrew Lloyd Weber but on occasion he delivers and for the most part Phantom of the Opera is a contemporary masterpiece (grand opera in abbreviated form, if you will). I will only echo Dumbo12's stellar review and add that the Original Cast (NOT movie) recording of "A Chorus Line" is also available in 5.1 from SONY on SACD and it is equally stunning. Less Spectacular and available in stereo only SACD is the movie soundtrack to "My Fair Lady." But with all the ... more |

In three little words: an unequivocal success. IMO, this 1976 Billy Joel mainstay has never sounded better. | The Norah Jones SACD was also made in Austria. But it seems MoFi is having their SACDs manufactured in Indiana (and this from one of Music Direct's (owner of MoFi) salesman).

| Tom, I generally prefer AP's SACDs to MoFi. Just received the 5.1 AP Remaster of Norah Jones Come Away With Me. Already own the original Blue Note 5.1. The AP remaster blows it away.
And regarding the Patsy Cline: It was mastered from the 1/4 inch (?) master analogue tape (straight transfer: no EQ whatsoever). Will probably buy it as I'm crazy for ... more |

| Just read hooperthom's review and received my copy of Head Games from MoFi yesterday. NO clicks on the first cut on my copy but I do agree with Tom that it's nothing to write home about.....although I'm still burning in my new Shunyata Research Cobra Zitron interconnects which I've added to my Marantz SA11s3.

| All of Beethoven's Nine Symphonies in multichannel could conceivably be contained on ONE BD~A disc.
And the mere fact that Kleiber's Beethoven has already had two prior hi~rez mch releases and will now be released on BD~A sans the mch track is a further recipe for disaster.
