This is a re-release. I purchased this multi-channel SACD on Amazon well over a year ago. The original release date of this recording was 2008. This performance has incredible energy, PASSION and excitement yet is restrained and exceedingly ethereal in the slow movements. I remember hearing the Koto Ensemble's Seasons on the radio, WNIB and WFMT in Chicago, in the 1976. I was a senior in High School. It was great!
I still recommend The Four Seasons with Stefano Montanari on violin with the Accademia Bizantina directed by Ottavio Dantone. It's the best original instrument recording out there of ... more |

| Well, I try to be patriotic as much as I can. But if BIS is going to sell directly to the customer soon, that may mean more profit for BIS which means more SACDs in the future which would benefit me. So this may be a case were I will buy directly from BIS to help the cause of classical music on SACD.
