| Pentatone does fabulous work but I do regret their policy of regarding SACD as a multichannel format rather than a high-resolution format. I'm sure most of us who are looking forward to the Italianos' Beethoven op. 59 would also gladly buy the remainder of the cycle, even in stereo only, if it were to be offered on SACD. | Tahra no longer seems to have a U.S. distributor, but you can order direct from them via their web site at http://www.tahra.fr/contact.php. I was able to obtain the Furtwangler SACD from them for 16 Euros (about US$25) shipped. | Just checked my copy, and I think I see the problem you're referring to. I've noticed a similar problem with some of my Bob Dylan SACDs, Blood on the Tracks being one. It hasn't caused any problems so far with playback (on a Marantz SA8001). I'm going to leave it alone, not pick at it, and hope for the best. But see also this thread: ... more | |
