You will enjoy the quad mix, they really liked to use all 4 channels back in the day. Also there is a flat 24/96 transfer of the stereo master. I have a turntable so was able to compare the digital stereo to the analog stereo, both are good but I would give a slight edge to the vinyl. I have 3 AF SACD's and your comment fits with my impression, they sound like red book CD's, which is to say OK but nothing special. AF is issuing titles that are of interest to me but.......... ... more | |

In the March 2010 edition of Stereophile, Robert Baird reviews a vinyl re-issue of the first 4 Neil Young albums. I have been able to carefully pry apart the SJB's and remove the RF ID tags placed inside. Another bugbear is trying to remove those infernal "hybrid" stickers from the outside of cases without marring the plastic. Solvent will work on the glue if you can get the paper off the surface but I always seem to leave some scratches where I pick at the ... more |
