After being fascinated by her Bach and Tchaikovsky recording, I bought this one. Fischer/Kreizberg managed it again. Both great and not-so-great players have recorded these works in their own style. Notable recordings of them have been made by Henryk Szeryng, Yehudi Menuhin, Jascha Heifetz, and Nathan Milstein to name a few. But there's no definitive one. She recorded Kammermusik No.5(Op.36 No.4), Trauermusik, and Sonatas but not 'the Swan Turner' yet. Anyway, though I highly recommend Lawrence Power's recordings, I still have high hopes for Tabea Zimmermann's traversal.(Her tone is more alluring than his. And her recent Reger and R. The main competition of these works comes from Power/Atherton(Hyperion). Their 'Der Schwanendreher' is the finest among 6 versions(including Tabea Zimmermann/Shallon's EMI recording) I've heard. ... more
