After being fascinated by her Bach and Tchaikovsky recording, I bought this one. Fischer/Kreizberg managed it again. Both great and not-so-great players have recorded these works in their own style. Notable recordings of them have been made by Henryk Szeryng, Yehudi Menuhin, Jascha Heifetz, and Nathan Milstein to name a few. But there's no definitive one. I hear a weird sound, which is present on the 2nd mov.(andante cantabile) to Symphony in C. it last a couple of seconds from 5:34 mark. I suppose it comes from the 1st violins. Does anyone know what that is? ... more

Maybe she became too big to handle for an small label. recording format may not be her foremost concern. She or her agent may have thought Decca would provide her better distribution for record-selling and better environment for music-making. Did they make right decision? We'll see. ... more
