My original audio configuration: was an Onkyo universal player (DV-SP502) and a Yamaha A/V receiver (RX-V659) (connected via analogue outputs) and B&W bookshelf speakers. | Mine is the same (european and housed in a super jewel case), it's hybrid (multichannel/stereo) SACD (logo printed in the back side and disc in minuature size). By the way, the back side of the case states DVD Video and DTS 94/24 logos but in my players (Onkyo/Oppo) lights only the plain DTS indicator. Agreed, it sounds awesome! ... more | |

I recently received my Oppo BDP-95 and finally I had the experience to compare PCM vs DSD through the analog outputs (using the FR/FL dedicated outputs) and DSD sounded so digital to me that prefered to left the PCM to analog conversion by now. My Onkyo DV-SP502 universal player (now replaced by an Oppo BDP-95 but still in my rack) used to have this failure, all of a sudden the player only detected the CD layer of some of my hybrid SACD's (Kraftwerk's M.M and Peter Gabriel's Up to be specific).
