Compliments to the chef!
I already had Vivaldis four season's on D-Grammophone CD with Perlman, Stern, Zukerman, & the israeli philharmonic, which was one of my favorite classicals up to then.
J.Jansen's well deserved the attention and the award she got for this one.

Sorry guys! I don't agree. I could hardly bear torturing myself all the way to the end. Complete absence of melody or any other recognizable pattern. To me the band was just doodling all the way through. I simply can't follow the hype. The sound is excellent, though. Don't risk getting it just ... more |

Almost unbelievable that this recording was made over four decades ago! Where other tapes got mixed to death, less is more here. That means more of the music got left the way it was supposed to sound. And now I see why they picked this album for the SACD edition. Getz's Sax and Gilbertos voice sound ... more |
