Nothing to add to the previous review about the artistic performance, which is always great when DK sings old standards. But the MC sonics are awful: her voice is comming from the five channels instead of the front one(s). Stereo sonics are better, even if they are not the best we can have on jazz ... more

The listening to the music of this contemporary of Beethoven is quite pleasant, if not marked by genius. These are his only two known symphonies, and this is their first ever recording. You can count me in that minority. I also like applauds at the end of live recordings, especially in mch as it gives you the feeling of "being there" and participating at the event. For the Rach 2nd, i have the Hough and the Van Cliburn versions. I can tell you that I listen more often to the Hough one. ... more

It is a dual disk set in the sense there are 2 discs in the box: one Blue Ray, and one Hybrid SACD. Nothing to do with the dead format you talk about ... more
