Sadly I have to concur with sgb's overall conclusions on this recording. I am a fan of Gergiev and can appreciate his view of the work, and the orchestra's excellence, but I feel that Philips has not done justice to either in a recording (in multi-channel or stereo) that fails to approach the best ... more |
