I suppose I bought this SACD because I have very little popular Christmas music on SACD. I'm a big Domingo fan and figured it'd be worth a shot - boy was I wrong! I'm very glad that I did end up getting this disc. I heard the Harmonia Mundi recording of the Brahms requiem and just couldn't get into it all that much. As someone who plopped down $720 plus shipping for the Wagner, the news about the remastering process is surprising to me and slightly disappointing. That being said, I'm still happy I bought it as the sound is significantly improved and quite glorious. It seems to me like a good bet that Decca won't be letting go of the analogue masters anytime ... more
