Excellent. One of the few if any Virgil Fox discs in print. Sound is good with some hiss and a very audible truck passing by the church during a quiet passage. An Opus Jazz sampler that has the widest, deepest soundstage I have ever heard. Lots of traditional jazz here with some dixieland and organ jazz thrown in for good measure. This would be a great demo disc to showcase SACD format. Excellent. |

Found this one totally by accident at Borders, SACD in the regular jazz bins. Buster has been a session bass player since 1959. Just a quickie review. Don't own the redbook version of this record. I see that there is a remaster cd out of this done on Apogee UV 22 converter that I am sure sounds great but I have no first hand knowledge.
