I really enjoy this compilation disk. Baby boomers will be familiar with most of these tunes. I was surprised by how many I remembered as I was never a Kinks fan. Stay away! The songs are great but the sonics are horrible. Of the 100 or so SACDs I own, only Journey's Greatest Hits SACD has worse sound. Very compressed and congested sounding. Too bad too, because this is great music. I'll buy the released multi-channel version and see if Sony can get it ... more

Love it, love it, love it! Fantastic sonics and the album is a timeless classic. I prefer the SACD stereo track on this one as I'm not a fan of aggressive multi-channel mixes. Of special note is the bass which is so rich, clear, and full you won't believe it's from the seventies. Highly ... more

Yeah - this disc sounds danm good. I owned this, and many other, early DMP recordings. The music is great progressive jazz that typically starts with a simple theme and builds/slams into more complex refrains. It was recorded as well as it could have been in the early eighties.
