| SACD was a failed technology for a number of reasons the main one being the masses want free music. However for those who want high resolution music and most are willing to pay for it, it is still the best option. This news from Warner would standardize the supplier market. | Just picked up the Yamaha HTR-6190. Along with the OPPO 980 in direct DSD the sound difference is phenomenal. I just upgraded from the Yamaha HTR-5660 which no slouch of a receiver itself. | The writing is on the wall for most forms of music. CD sales were down 35% in Canada last year alone. I spoke with young music fan who pretty well sums it up. | The sound quality improvements that I have noticed are primarily in SACD and CD. DVD-Audio sound quality seems to be the same as the Yamaha and the Cambridge Audio DVD-87.
