SACD started out as a high-resolution 2-channel stereo format aimed at lovers of analog 2-channel sound. It later became a multi-channel format and as less expensive SACD players entered the market it was seen more as a multi-channel rather than a high-resolution format. I do not believe 2-channel Stereo need or should be an after thought. I have lived with both Quadraphonic 4 Channel 7 ½ ips Pre-recorded Reel to Reel tapes and modern day surround sound. I prefer 2-channel stereo not only for music but movies as well. Of all the Digital formats SACD IMHO comes the closest to the ultimate realism of the best analog Reel to Reels and audiophile LPs. Happy listening, Teresa |

| This I agree with completely, the ONLY people qualified to report on the effects of tweaks are those who have actually tried said tweaks. Pure simple logic. ... more | |

| This one might work for our non-classical high resolution lovers: [t=3411] MDG recorded it the same way they make their Classical recordings, and it shows that Rock music can definitely be high resolution and should be great for setting up a system for flat response playback, ... more | |

| I still use the CD Stoplight green pen on my SACDs, DVD-Audios and DVD-Videos. Not only does it greatly improve the sound but it brings out the colors more vividly on DVD-Videos, an effect even people who do not believe their own ears can see with their own eyes. It's an improvement no one can ... more | |

| Correct, I used the Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_eXtreme_Definition to get the name right and they list it as 24 Bit, so it is out of date. I changed my post to 24/32 Bit 352.8kHz. ... more | |
