Performance:  Sonics:
Chopin piano works here consist of the Sonate no 2 in B Flat minor and Scherzo's no 1 - 4. I am not the most knowledgeable classical reviewer and you should do a search on audioasylum.com to find a lot of eloquent praise for this album by people much better suited to this task. The sonics are very good. The music can be soothing and all absorbing if you let it. The virtuosity shines through as well as Caroline Sageman's sense of drama. If you are looking for some good classical piano music for your SACD collection you cannot go wrong here.

Performance:  Sonics:
Sonics are excellent with a Stainway piano that does not sound metallic at all. The soundstaging is coherent and spacious (not too large), the imaging is tight, attacks are wery well reproduced and the sound is never agressive. Regarding the interpretation which is remarkable, I found it a bit "mechanic" or dry (understand too precise or too close to the "raw" partition) in comparison to e.g. Wladimir Askenazy on the same works. It is a matter of taste, if you like very clean, neat interpretations, you may think I have been rude with giving only four stars.
