Elegant Gypsy is a classic. It has some of the most exciting guitar work Al DiMeola ever made. It seems like every album he made after this one is trying to recycle the success he had with Elegant Gypsy.
On this album you will find a kind of jazz/rock which was very popular in the 70’s. Al DiMeola was a master at this sound. The aggressiveness of his guitar sound would fit nicely in a heavy rock band. The complexness of his licks, and the speed at which he plays will still amaze every guitar lover.

On the sound front, no complains. It’s a lot better than the original redbook version. And if you like the seventies jazz/rock sound or just like Al DiMeola this album is a “must have”.
