|I hate to admit that I wasted money on something. Just the opposite, I would rather feel satisfied in making a purchase, even if pricey, knowing that I will use it again and again, or in this case listen to it again and again. If I listen to Talking Book again, I will merely feel used again.
Stevie Wonder, being a major artist of his generation, should be treated with a little more care, effort, and polish. This to me literally sounds like someone just started the tape rolling, took a 60 minute break, and voila, came back to a SACD transfer.
SACD is a great medium which responds well to star treatment of great recordings. Record companies shouldn't merely use the fact that SACD is a niche market to line up suckers willing to pay a high price because they are desperate for product.
I'm going to give this two and a half stars for sound quality, though if I thought more about it I am sure I could go lower. I will probably listen to this again, but only to confirm whether my initial disappointment was justified.
