This is a very solid and excellently recorded album. The sacd tranfer is superb and anyone loving this particluar Bach music will enjoy it immensly. With two sacd's you have a good running time to enjoy this.
The sound is fairly realistic, nuetral but with some warmth and fantatic playing. It has decent sound stage and a nice reverb of the venue it was recorded in.
You might expect to hear that the conductor's own influence will be found on this release. By that I mean that they use period instruments so it will sound slightly different that you are used to. Also he has a slightly more regal take on the music and stays away from the usual, unoriginal romantic stance.
What can I say really or add more??? Excellent music...excellent recording....excellent sacd.
Highly recommended.
