Apparently, this album was recorded direct to 44.1/16 PCM. My original CD copy had a very characteristically "early digital" sound (very etched and artificial), so I purchased an LP copy which sounded just the same. Finally I got a hold of the SACD and it sounded exactly the same as the CD. A quick check via spectograph revealed that it is indeed 44.1/16 PCM (nothing over 20khz).

I have the Japanese version, not sure if its the same but to me it sounds wonderful, deep full bass, his voice is so clear. Only downside is that its only 2 channel.
