Performance:  Sonics:
I have had this SACD for over a year and have been able to audition it on a number of systems, including my new reference quality system, and I have to say that the soundstage sounds somewhat distant and narrow, and overall, the sonics are not spectacular. However, I did not relize this until I purchased my new system, and I thaught the sonics were fine on my previous equipment. The modern arangements were creative and do justice to the original Beatles arrangements. The King's Singers, as usual, did an excellent job.

An interesting mix of the Orchestra or the King Singers on their own and both together. It's a good, fun cd, with good sonics, whilst personally I don't rate this as highly as Telarc's 1812 (this is the same conductor and orchestra) it's still good fun. It's a pity that some of the orchestral song versions don't have any singing, I most missed this on yesterday. All in all it's a great SACD, the King Singers are superb and when with the orchestra are nicely seperated. Telarc discs are certainly worth looking into, my best SACDs are all by them. The CD layer is good but it is in multi-channel it really comes into it's element.

Easy, gentle listening best describes this SACD. I enjoy listening to it as background music, but it's not a SACD that I listen or use to demonstrate the strengths of my system. Like all Telarc albums this is well done, but I don't rate it as reference. It doesn't "knock your socks off", but I'm glad that I bought it.
