Performance: Sonics: |
An interesting mix of latin and jazz, in that order.
Camilo is a master on the piano and Anthony Jackson fantastic on the bass. Horacio Hernandez has got "4" arms on drums and percussion. So technically as masterful performance, but sitting through the whole (SA) CD can be a little bit boring as the tracks are a bit too similar.
Sonically the whole thing is a true Telarc marvel, but in surround take care of placement of the speakers as the drums and the piano moves from the front to the rear, and from left to right, from track to track, so if your speakers are not set up properly you may find it difficult to get the 5.1 mix right - I am still struggling.
But clarity and fidelity are very high.

Performance: Sonics: |
Sonically, this is reference quality. It's clean, dynamic, and full.
I also find the performance interesting. I don't get bored listening to the entire SACD. With some other Jazz SACDs, I have trouble listening to the entire SACD in one sitting.
