The sound of this SACD is sure to please. The clarity, sonics and feel of the music is moving. You will be hard pressed to hear Juinor Wells in any better setting unless he ever played live in your living room. The multi channel mix is superb and quite exilerating to listen to. A must have SACD for those who love Juinor Wells and blues in general.

This disc sounds great.

As far as the performances go, Wells and his producer assembled a strong collection of songs from Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells, Little Walter, Tampa Red and--get this--Tracy Chapman. Recorded in 1996, two years before his death, the 62 year old Wells' singing and blowing are in great form. To top that off, he is paired with several different slide guitar experts, including Sonny Landreth (sometime guitarist for John Hiatt's band), wunderkind Derek Trucks (son of the late Allman Brother Butch Trucks), Alvin "Youngblood" Hart and Corey Harris. If you like Chicago-style blues, you're going to love this CD.

Now, the sound. Pristine. Crystal clear. Great in 5.1 and in stereo. Everything you'd ever want--and expect--from SACD. The folks at Telarc did a great job here.

First of all, this is a great blues recording. Junior Wells is a master, and he never sounded better that he does here. The guest musicians accompany Juniour without trying to overshadow him.

Secondly, I love the multi-channel mix on this sacd. One of the best I've heard.
