| Here's an off-the-wall project. Rickie Lee Jones took the writings of a friend about Jesus and decided to reshape them into here own lyrics and music. On first impression, the words are somewhat hit and miss, but the music has a raw, organic flavor to it, mostly hard rock, but also some slower more meditative tunes. The surrounds nicely enhance the mix, with background vocals occasionally sprouting in the rear along with selected quitar parts. The surrounds are one piece with the raw, driving instrumentation mostly in evidence here. They flavor the music without calling attention to themselves. I call this one a winner.
