I can't decide whether Green River or Bayou Country is my favorite CCR album. I used to have this on vinyl 'back in the day' when new record releases meant a trip to that local record shop, one flight of stairs down from the 5&10 store, where you could buy peace symbol decals for your hs locker and incense and underground newspapers from San Francisco. Whenever I go out to Utah I make sure I'm blasting the track "Green River" as I detour off I-70 in- you guessed it- Green River.

| Another great album (review from amazon.com) |

| Another great album from this band. They have so much melody and sound so great. I really love this band. This isn't their best album, but it's still great.

| download quality warning1! (review from amazon.com) |
|
| Be Warned. The quality of the download is not the same as the preview. the sound is grainy with background noise. it sounds like it was recorded in a tunnel!

| Not the sound I expected. (review from amazon.com) |

I enjoyed the 2 instrumentals *Broken Spoke Shuffle and * Glory Be from the extra tracks, they fit well. The live extras were 3 man band CCR and not that great. It is a shame they could not have found a few rare live 4 man band CCR tracks to include.
As far as the sound of this remasterd CD It does not compare to the 24K gold Green River remasterd disc.

| Third album has much to offer (review from amazon.com) |
|
While the title track was successful when released as a single, the other single taken from the album (Bad moon rising) became even more successful. It just missed the top spot in America (as several Creedence Clearwater Revival singles did) but went all the way to number one in Britain.
Other highlights here include Wrote a song for everyone (a plea for mutual understanding that is just as relevant today as it ever was) and Lodi (a very sad song), while the other songs are all worth hearing.
This album helped to consolidate Creedence Clearwater Revival `s already high reputation when first released, but even better was to come with the next two albums (Willy and the poor boys, Cosmo's factory) before arguments within the group affected the quality of their music. If you're building a collection of original albums by Creedence Clearwater Revival, this may not be the best place to begin, but it should certainly be on your list.
Since I purchased my copy, this album has been re-issued with different packaging and extra tracks. Amazon puts reviews for both versions on both product pages, but I recommend this album whether or not it has those extra tracks.
