Chamber music also benefits from the SACD remasterings. Praga is a label that is releasing many very interesting and high quality discs. Not only sonically, but artistically as well. Quartets are complex pieces to play and record: first, of course is the question of interpretation, and then the question of recording balances. The Prazak Qtt is one of the top ensembles today, and it shows here very clearly. Dvorak quartets are gems in a very rich repertoire. It is not justa matter of musical invention, but also of rythm, intensity and poetry. These interpretations are superb. Sonically, balancces are excellent. The strings as recorded sound quite diferentiated, with a lot of presence but no shrillness, taht sometimes is present in chamber music recordings. Good spatial image.
A must for all fans of Dvorak, and chamber music.
