| This disc appealed to me far more than it did to the previous reviewer. Beekman's performance comes across as well-judged, the repertoire diverse but interesting and sometimes unusual, the recording clear and spacious. As for the low bass, I found it to be present when called for (though I admit my speakers only perform down to 26Hz). My impression is that the recording honestly reproduces the (really rather mellifluous) sonic character of an organ that though full-range is by no means tonitruant (there's a word I don't get to use too often). I doubt if there's any problem due to the SACD medium. I'm rating this disc conservatively but I like it very much.

| As always with Pentatone, the sound is astounding: you feel seated in the middle of the church, and listening in MC with 4 columns and a central, I could hardly hear any problem with the bass. As for the performance though, I found it a bit flat, especially on the great opening Bach toccata. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the choice of works is very diverse and interesting. Overall, a very pleasant CD but you may want to search for more compelling performances of these works.

The classical d-minor toccata and fuga has a solid sound for SACD disk. However I was expecting better bass sound. Using Sony DVP-NS705 with simex subwoofer the bass sound was not strong enough.
Kellner's praeludium and Krebs' trio were better than the expected.
I think organ music on a SACD has it difficulties on getting the low frequency sounds deep and strong enough.
Cannot recommend this disk to organ music fans.
