Performance:  Sonics:
Already an excellent performance in any format, these Bach cantatas as super audio enter yet a higher level of emotion and depth lacking in the redbook (CD) layer. Dorothee Mields' vocal purity and innocence seem to perfectly fulfill Bach's intent in the deeply religious context of this work. Herreweghe is unmatched in producing an remarkable performance that also creates a sense of historical transcendence.
