Performance:  Sonics:
I found the recording of the Overtures to actually be more compelling than the Symphony itself. The sound is more enveloping and the performances full of joy and spirit. Askenazy's recording of the symphony is beautiful in the first movement, but loses the gravitas of the second movement by going to fast.

So overall a mixed bag. I definitely preferred the overtures over the recording of the symphony.
