I practice karate (wado ryu), I love walking on the mountains of Great Britain when I can but more often on the Shropshire hills, and I love watching movies: at home rather than than the multiplex which can be irritating as there are annoying strangers there usually.

Recently I love drinking beer while listening to SACDs. If anyone loves European beer, now is a great chance to get a special Belgian beer, called Westvleteren XII. It is usually not exported. Normally, you have to make a reservation and then go to the abbey in Belgium to pick it up. But this year they put together a special box set. It is expensive, but the proceeds will help the renovation of the abbey, which was damaged in a fire. I don't know if I am allow to promote such a product on this website, but this is a special case. Please forgive.

P.S. An interesting piece of trivia about Sumo wrestlers.... They smell as sweet as a Camellia flower!!! ha ha ha!! I am serious!!! The oil that they use to grease their hair back is a traditional oil extracted from the seeds of the camellia flower. This is the same oil that Geisha use. If you go to a sumo match and stand near a sumo wrestler, you can smell this wonderful, sweet fragrance!! Truth is stranger than fiction!!!

Reckon I'm a physical fitness fanatic, for lack of a better term for it. : )

Part of my consistent weekly routine is a couple of hours of intense cardiovascular workouts twice weekly at my local gym. Eating right also helps. Been doing this for years.

I also love walking - whether around near where I live in the West Kent/East Suusex border - or further afield and abroad. I also love drinking wine and beer, and eating is (apart from the obvious reason) also a great pleasure of mine. Looking at me though, you wouldn't think so! I take an interest in languages also, finding them very interesting.

I understand what you mean about annoying strangers though - which is perhaps one of the reasons why I stopped going to the cinema years ago. Now I feel as though I've been very un-PC!

I'm one of those annoying foodies. I try to go on some kind of food adventure twice a month, and shopping at Whole Foods and the farmer's market are among the high points of my week. And as a matter of pride, I make just about all of my own food down to things like ice cream.

I'm also do a lot of cycling.

Film freak. Many, many more silver discs! Extensive Film Noir, the stuff dreams are made of.

Luckily, even after nearly 50 years, I'm still pretty passionate about my work--broadcasting.

And way too much time looking at this site! (insert obnoxious smiley face here)

Astronomy has been my main hobby from day one, for those of you who are petrified of anything science related, NO, this not science, I love the visual aspect of astronomy, viewing Jupiter at high power as it performs its daily dance with Galilean satellites is a pure joy, just to sit down and watch Mama nature at its full glory, one of the few things that is still free, our government has not yet discovered this potential source of income.

Visual astronomy is no different than marveling at Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or anything else here on earth, it’s the beauty of nature here or up there in the sky, nothing comes close!

And, NO, I do not listen to music when I am out there watching, I do not need SACD or Beethoven when I am at the telescope, I much rather listen to crickets, live, in the dark.
