Do anyone know if this new hybrid version of "kind of blue" is stereo or multichannel?

It's a 5.1 mix. The instruments are mixed to the front 3 channels - the surround channels are used for ambient sound to give the recording a "sitting on a stool in the middle of the studio" feel. I love it.
