I can still search for titles but no longer through forum posts. A deliberate change or a glitch with the introduction of the 'report' button?

Wondering about the same. Was going to search for threads with unsuitable content...

It's the first of a number of changes to de-emphasize the role of the forum here and likely do away with it entirely. The core of this site is the title database, reviews and linked discussions (assuming the last can stay focussed). I also plan to redo and reinstate the home page which will make this more obvious.

In view of the unreliability of the database and reviews, sanitizing the forum seems less a priority and more like just trying to make a point. More so because you've clearly stated here that in terms of the site's overall traffic, its role is minimal. Although, come to think of it, "to de-emphasize the role of the forum" seems to contradict that.
Either way, the problem is not the forum section, bickering et al. The problem is the neglect toward all the other sections. Suffice to say that in a real-world scenario, SA-CD.net's stock price would be now plummeting to an all time low, not that you'd ever sell it.
Too bad for you, for us and for the SACD format.

Shame to see the forum go.. I've picked up a lot of valuable insights over the years.
Rather than "tossing the baby out with the bath water," it may give Zeus greater time to focus on the essential features. Shame there isn't greater industry support for the site. Although I acknowledge and I'm grateful for the businesses that do contribute.
If the forum does go, I would like to remind everyone of the "SACD Audio Buffs of Facebook" Group.. a place for random chat..we also chat about other high resolution audio formats.
Again, I wish to thank Zeus for his hard work and good will in providing such a great online resource to promote a great format.
cheers,David

Decide against the edited out remark below?
"Hope we won't be left with product endorsements (reviews) alone..."

Yes, but since you've brought the issue anyway, may I ask is that really your plan??

Despite the childish and geeky postings of some, I should be sad to see the forum go; at it's best it can be interesting and enlightening. Without it I wouldn't be enjoying the benefits of my now hugely improved system - improved mainly due to the observations of some of the saner contributors.

The original goal of this site was to champion great releases on the format and highlight duds ... not in my opinion (I'm just one person) but that of the community here. Hence the freedom of anybody to contribute reviews (an option I note you haven't taken up) and related discussion. This plan hasn't changed.
The forum however has become an embarrassment to me. If by doing away with it some deadwood and unsavoury individuals move on it will be a worthwhile sacrifice.
