I'm guessing this was addressed long ago, so ples (wanted or for trade) should only be as part of a trade for SACDs, and not a straight "for sale" or swap for other CDs.ase forgive me if so - but even if so, is there a possibility of reconsidering? I'm sure many of us have desirable items (even redbook CDs, heaven forbid!) that others might be interested in. To prevent this from getting off the SACD track, though, I might suggest that any listings for CD

Well, my idea (at least to me) sounds too good to be true, and I'm sure it's not very original an idea, so, if this has already been addressed, please direct me to the last thread on this topic (or please reconsider adding this possibility to this great website).

Thanks!

thanks! :) and of course :( It sure would be great to have one on this site though - specializing solely in SACDs. Ah, one can only dream!

For what it's worth - I have been looking for what seems like forever for the Mercury Living Presence SACD - The Romeros, with the Rodrigo and Vivaldi concertos ... I did post a wanted ad on audiogon, if anyone has a spare they're interested in selling. Thanks.

Lunna, you just need to keep scouring...and recognize that you may never find it for less than the offers on Amazon. If you can play them - either directly or by burning them to DVD (and remember that you don't even need a DVD-A player for stereo less than 24/96) - then you should consider getting the Mercury discs on HDtracks.

I got the Mercury discs I own when they were available new. I've been keeping my eyes open for any others for reasonable prices (save for the still widely available Starker discs and Balalaika faves), but they rarely pop up.

I was lucky and found a brand new Hanson MLP SACD on MusicDirect at list a couple of weeks ago. Pure luck :). I do have a"double" of the Berlioz, found that one new too at less than list, but it's a BMG. I have so many super-high priced OOP CDs that are listed at insane prices on amazon. A bunch of Ben Bagley Revisited songbooks, for example, and actually sold three at much lower than the amazon prices, because the buyer really was a true fan of some of the singers; he definitely will get more joy from the CDs than I could. I'm optimistic, as the Romeros is the only one I don't have at this point. I did pick up at a very nice price the Japanese Sony Bernstein Mahler complete set the other day - pure serendipity, right place at the right time!

Oh, I did grab a second Mussourgky off of eBay the other day too for 22 dollars new, but haven't received it yet so not sure if it's a BMG or not.

Damn, those are some good catches of discs I've been watching for. Well done :)

well, perhaps one day we can work out a trade - my doubles for that romeros - one working edition of each is enough for me :)

ps - i see you're a fellow ny'er. i'm over in astoria!

Wicked. I'm near J&R.

And sadly, I don't have the Romeros disc either.

I live opposite J+R and I have the Romeros disc, and am getting rid of some Discs soon...
