Hi SACD-net. This is a great site. Just one suggestion: there is a problem in your search engine. For example, it is impossible to find all the 2L titles via a label search. This needs to be fixed!

I found 55. How many are there supposed to be?

If a title is not in the database, it will not come up.

Search terms of less than 3 characters are ignored. This is a limitation of being on a shared server (though I did manage to negotiate this down from 4 characters).

You can however easily access a label's title listing from Titles (above, select the label name) or clicking on the label name:

/titles/0/393/date/5/1
/alltitles/393

Hint: you can find all labels starting with character X with a URL /labels/X

i.e. you can find 2L via /labels/2

I have found that the best way to find all the disks for a particular label is to find one disc by that label, click on it, and then, when the full description comes up, click on the name of the label, which will be highlighted in blue. For example, for pentatone, click on "Pentatone Classics" as it would apper below.

Label: PentaTone Classics - http://www.pentatonemusic.com/

NOTE: the words "PentaTone Classics" would be highlighted in blue in the original, they are not in blue in this post.

That will give you all the discs for that label. If you were to just search for "Pentatone", you would only get the first 100 listed. If you follow the instructions above, you would get the full listing of 200+ discs.

Really a hopefully helpful comment to Zeus...

Why not separate the Pentatone recordings into two sets under Titles, new recordings & RQR's. It would make searches much more straightforward with fewer on each page. At present they are all mixed up of course under one heading.

Hopefully a helpful reply ...

While I can and may split Pentatone into new and RQR, searching is NOT the best way to show all titles for a label. Clicking on the label name to bring up the Alltitles page is, as mentioned above. An alternative is maybe to intercept searches and if it looks like people are doing a sub-optimal search on the label name, bring up the Alltitles page instead.

While it may not look much and the HTML could be brought up to date, there's been a LOT of thought into the functionality and usability of this site. All linked elements and things on the drop-down menus are there for a reason. I encourage everybody to explore these ... you may be surprised at what you can find and do.

I guess you were answering several people at once.

For me searching for all titles for a label has never been an issue as selecting from the drop-down list under 'Titles' reveals all every time. The RQR division would be a most helpful refinement of the 228 tiles available.
