I suppose I've been a sucker to - some of which comes from nostalgia. Although I'd dipped my toes into classical/orchestral music before (a bit), it was Tomita (and to a lesser degree, ELP) that sparked my curiosity. Whilst it's true that I struggle to listen to electronic music as much as I did 30 years ago, my Tomita "The Planets 2003" always brings a smile to my face. Much in the same way that my Kraftwerk SACD does. For me, they're not for every occasion, but very enjoyable now and again.

I'd love to hear your opinions on this Tomita SACD after you've had a chance to sample it.

After a couple of listens Mr. Tomita has remixed to some degree all the tracks just for this SACD. Surround mix is a little odd but I like it except that sometimes the rear is a little loud compared to the front. He could have done without the 2nd track, just don't really blend in with any of the other cuts except at the very end. Overall I like it. I wish it was 4.1 and not 4.0, just have to crank up the bass a little.

I've just ordered from a company I just discovered by chance in the UK, a copy of the new "Claire de Lune" SACD from Tomita. I'm looking forward to giving it a spin soon.

I'll post my thoughts.

I wish someone could come up with a barcode for this SACD.

I'll happily provide all the information possible once my disc arrives - and any feedback.

Don't even attempt it without oxygen.

The ascent, although hard going, is not too bad - it's coming back down where one's got to really watch out! Oh - and the hole in the middle can be tricky.

Apologies - only meant tongue very slightly in cheek.

Well done and thanks for listing this release hooperthom!

I'm still waiting for my SACD to arrive (one week now since I ordered), so I'll be able to add it to my library when it finally turns up. Shocking prices being shown there, which makes me feel better, as I paid nowhere near any of those.
