To end this tedious treatise on power cords...........I am using the King Cobra power cord with my Meridian 861 v.6 and it has transformed everything that passes through it including the HD621 which handles HDMI audio and video signals.
I have had various Meridian pre/pros for years and was happy to learn from the article which DSD (Teresa Goodwin) provided that Meridian does, indeed, use that cord when auditioning their 861 (which I did NOT realize when I purchased the cable).
If better contrast levels from my BD discs and spectacular, wholly engaging spaciousness both in the mains and the surrounds was not a by~product of this cable, at the asking price, I would have surely sent them back to Music Direct.
To say that these cables have transformed my system is an understatement and I will stick to my guns when I say that anyone wishing to experiment with power cords should consider this cord as a viable asset to any high end system.
Snake oil is snake oil but Shunyata Research is certainly onto a viable and reputable upgrade with this wonderful cord.
Highest Recommendation.
If the new power cable made as much difference as you say, it would perhaps follow that there is a shielding issue with your rather upscale Meridian preamp. That surprises. Well, if you keep throwing money at a problem, it usually can be solved.

Euell, my Meridian does not have those issues, trust me. My power coming in to my house is grounded and I use dedicated outlets for the Meridians (800, 802 and 861 v.6). Prior to incorporating the Shunyatas (4 of them), there was no noise issue. Dead silence from the speakers and subs.
Those testimonials from recording engineers were not an idle boast. I suggest you borrow a King Cobra from your local audio dealer and try it out for yourself.
Speculating on whether a particular "tweak" works is just that.....idle speculation.
Furthermore, all my components rest on custom built 1" Solid maple shelfing on brass points.

Whatever floats your boat. However, I suspect the recording engineers got theirs in exchange for their testimonials. Let me pose a philosophical question: if the sound you are getting is deeply satisfying, why tweak?

Simply, because tweaking HAS rendered my system that much MORE satisfying!
I don't think you realize that once lackluster~sounding music only DVDs with DD and DTS 5.1 surround sound ALMOST as satisfying as some SACD multichannel discs via my Meridian 800 DVD~A player.
And if that isn't progress?

What is your most satisfying demonstration SACD?

Actually, you are going to laugh.........My tastes in music are wildly eclectic..........As demos I use blu~ray discs since my Meridian Projector and new high gain Stewart Filmscreen beg visuals, as well. Although I have about 1500 SACDs (half of which are classical) for demo purposes I use Adele Live At Royal Albert Hall (BD), the DVD~A of LOVE, the Beach Boys astounding DVD~A of pet sounds and Phantom of the Opera LIVE from Melbourne, Australia and Sade Live from Austin, Texas (amazing visuals and ultra superb sound).
Last night I was mesmerized by Angela Hewitt's out of print Hyperion m/c recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas (OP 13 Pathetique/Op 28 Pastoral, Op 2 No. 3) and I love the incredibly deep bass lines of Nezet-Seguin's La Mer with the Orchestre Metropolitain du Grand Montreal on the Atma label.
And for fun total immersion, Kraftwerk's Minimum/Maximum 2 disc m/c affair puts one in the center of a holographic aural experience.
And I'm also a huge fan of Criterion's Blu~Ray restorations.
Besides audio one of my first loves was photography and being a visual person, I do spend an inordinate amount of time watching movies.
To say I have "a" favorite demo disc is skimming the surface of a vast collection that spans about 10,000 5" optical discs (a life time of collecting).
And even my Meridian SooLoos have left me with a renewed interest at how good a RBCD can sound when it's done right (but that can be said for all recorded media).

I met Angela Hewitt a couple of years ago after a concert in SF and had a long conversation with her. She is a tiny person and her hands are surprisingly small for such an accomplished pianist. By the way, her Hyperion recording of the Beethoven sonatas you mentioned is readily available new on Amazon.

Since Hyperion is no longer releasing SACDs I exhort anyone who has an interest in Ms Hewitt to purchase all her recordings on that label......while they're still available....as well as Andrew Litton's 2 Ives SACDs (on Hyperion) of Symphonies 1~4.

It appears that most, if not all, of the SACD's are currently carried in the catalogue as RBCD's. Although I haven't heard all of Ms. Hewitt's recordings, of those I have heard, I cannot hear any significant advantage to the SACD versions (in stereo).

No wonder you have trouble picking out a favorite. You probably can't remember most of what you have. Do you ever cull? There can't be 10,000 stars in the back room. I'm sure the recording industry is appreciative, however.
