Recording resolution?

Here is hoping this is remotely as good as his debut album!

That appears to be a modern grand piano on the cover--can one assume that's what he's playing on the recording?

He plays the Steinway Model D # 493 845

I tried on his previous release and couldn't find it. Maybe my search powers are deserting me!

Maybe I'm being too pedantic (in which case, shoot me down in flames!) but don't those just tell us what the Studio Master versions are available in to download rather how it was actually recorded?

I was always under the impression that Linn albums are recorded at the highest resolution shown. I mean, Linn wouldn´t want to be accused of up-sampling now, would they...?

From the Linn website: "The format will be dependent on the actual recording method we used originally."

Indeed - I just can't keep track of what all the different companies do wrt DSD (for example) though! But if (and it's an "if" because I don't know for definite) Linn did record in DSD, they wouldn't offer it for download as there's very few solutions for playback available to the public (even compared with 192kHz/24 bit!) would they? Hence my confusion...
