Hello Mr Von Bahr,
May I ask you one question : Is it really Pierre-Alain Volondat, the same who won multiple prizes in 1983 at the Concours Reine Elizabeth in Belgium ?
I'm from Belgium and this man made a huge impression here, when he came nearly 30 years ago. I didn't know he was still playing and recording music. How did you manage to get him to record for you ?
Thanks a lot for your reply and all your recordings.
PS : His name wasn't written correctly (3 r instead of 2 in Pierre), but I reported this error so I suppose it will be corrected soon.
PS 2 : Sorry for my very approximative english.

It looks like he recorded intermittently. After LPs for EMI in the 1980's following his discovery, he made a few CDs for Naxos in the late 90's and has been active again recently.

Added to wish list.
It appears conductor Kees Bakels is doing a series of Lalo's works. I have two 24/44.1kHz downloads from eClassical.com , the Namouna Ballet Music (CD-1296) and Symphonie espagnole with the same violinist, Jean-Jacques Kantorow (CD-1680).

But will Symphonie espagnole be an SACD release?

Yes, that's him.
I made a lot of mistakes in entering this SACD here, both the 3 "r":s and the picture, but sa-cd.net's system doesn't allow me to go in and correct, which is frustrating beyond belief. I have written elsewhere to zeus, but no answer so far.
PS: now I see that the picture is correct above here, but incorrect in the "Submit" section. And I understand even less. Maybe I didn't do a mistake with the picture after all?

The recording Theresa has mentionned was released as BIS-CD-1680 in 2009 (CD and 24/44 download).

Thanks Claude. I added the CD numbers of both recordings to my original post. The Namouna Ballet Music (CD-1296 and 24/44.1kHz download) is my favorite Lalo composition so far. It was released in 2006.

No sign of this disc on e-classical so recording resolution still not known.
Kee Bakels is principal assistant conductor at Bournemouth and has been for many years
Robert, still think you should get the BSO on BIS, at the moment they seem to be recording for everyone, Warner, Onyx, Naxos with any old conductor looking for work and a quick buck but nothing in SACD. Quantity... sure, Quality... YuK!

It will be released on eClassical early June with the usual New Release discount: 24 bits for the price of mp3 for about a week. 24/44,1
