I have received my copy of Parsifal directed by Janowski and for me the recording is not on the same level of quality (soundwise) than the first two recordings of Wagner’s opera by Pentatone. I have just listen one time the first three disks and I could’nt really appreciate Janowski interpretation, who I normally like very much, because I perceived continuously that something is odd with the sound quality. It has nothing to do with the soundstage, the definition or the layering of the instruments. It's something more intrinsic, like a lack of fluidity, perhaps I could say it sounds digital. I am not sure, but it's something not usual with Pentatone.

I have listened to Act I thus far and I am not hearing what you do with respect to the sound; however, I would say that Janowski does not achieve the beauty of orchestral sound via sustained lyricism that we have heard from other conductors such as Knappertbusch, Kubelik, or even Solti (which I listened about a week ago). It is not a terrible performance -great singing by the way - but on the very fast side, and not beautifully phrased. I hope that Act III has more repose.
