Yes, folks, you heard it right. AP is releasing three more DOORS albums (Strange Days, Waiting For the Sun and LA Woman) remastered in 5.1 using all tube equipment in 2012. The original DOORS album was recently released in 5.1 by Warners Japan.

Why 'The Soft Parade' and 'Morrison Hotel' on vinyl but not on SACD?

Post by Tim-sacd November 2, 2011 (3 of 50)
Maybe because both albums (Soft Parade & Morrison Hotel) were released by Audio Fidelity not so long ago??

Hope AP will release more Cat Stevens in the near future (especially Teaser and the Firecat and Mona Bone Jakon).

Any news yet about the Simon & Garfunkel rumours?

Would these be the Perception box DVD-A mixes ported over to SACD?

I don't believe so.......They're using ALL tubed equipment for the SACD project..........I have and cherish the Perception boxed set of DVD~As/CDs but I think these will surpass them....especially considering Doug Sax and original Doors' Producer Bruce Botnick's participation.

"The multichannel mixes are Botnick's mixes from the Perception Box in 2006"

It's very cool these are coming out in SACD, but like I said in another post, I have the 2006 Perception set - which I acquired for $40 - so I just can't see myself buying all the same mixes for another $120, even if the sound may be a little better.

I'm with you on that. Besides the Soft Parade and Morrison Hotel will NOT be available in SACD (only Vinyl) and that cool box which came with the Perception set will also NOT be included.

And for $40 (for 12 discs and the box) you really got a great deal (and a half)!

It looks like things might have changed. Acoustic Sounds now lists Analogue Productions SACDs for The Soft Parade and Morrison Hotel, in addition to the other four. The two new SACDs are labeled Hybrid Stereo, but their descriptions indicate that they will be in multichannel like the others.

There's also a limited edition box set of all six SACDs listed for the low, low price of $280.

If it ever gets released, I remember it was suppose to start the release back in March. No release date, could be a year from now.

Last time i talked to Analogue Productions they had no idea when either, only it will be released soon. Means nothing to me.

So they must have rebuilt the ENIAC for ADC and DSD coding. Shows some true dedication!
