Multichannel, hybrid and lower price, though still much higher than most classical new releases..

Uhm... are you sure that goes for Japanese classical titles as well? After all, those are Japanese imports. As far as I know, all of the Japanese releases start around this price. But I may be wrong.

The price is lower (at about the norm for Japanese releases) because it's not a SHM disc, despite being flagged as such in some places.

DVD/CD/SACD whatever. Bury it. Stick a fork in it. Oh God please not again with this countryfied dude rock with its redneck sensibilities. The Eagles (and especially this album) might as well be the official music of the American midwest/southwest as often as it is heard. I've left an Indian buffet, a Chinese restaurant, a motel lobby, a few tap rooms, numerous retail shops because I could not endure hearing Hotel California one more time. There is always more nuance to pull out of a Haydn composition, but definitely not from a Henley lyric.

To each his own. However, most knowledgeable people do view this album as a classic and deserving of a great transfer.

While everyone has a right to their opinions, even in prosperous times classical music only accounted for roughly 10% of ALL record sales.

By ignoring the 90%, it would be a great way to literally pulverize an already precariously positioned niche market!

A word to the wise should be sufficient!

And who, pray tell, is Jeff Lebowski: ya mean the DUDE????????

Or was it Big Sur who peed on the rug in the Hotel California?

p.s. Hominy grits and Haydn don't mix!
