This recording is already available on Pentatone RQR so what's the point?

This recording is produced, marketed, and for sale with the Japanese audience in mind, so what's your point? Most definitely for those of us who want multichannel and appreciate the Pentatone, we'd want it. However, the Universal Japan release is made for the Japanese consumer, he or she of the usual 2 channel systems and their own particular biases in place.

For those who have the Pentatone, how does it sound in 2 channel?

It sounds fairly good, though it does suffer a little from the "softness" associated with the converter they used to transfer it, IMO.

I have both the philips original CD release and Pentatone one. Will compare the stereo layer if I have some time during the world cup match breaks: )
