I look forward to it. My predicition is that these will be very good performances but perhaps not as exciting as Pollini's op. 2 set - he really does play the daylights out of these.

I was enormously impressed - dazzled - by Tchetuev's Schnittke Piano Sonata SACD - also on a Fazioli piano - and also with ravishing sound. His piano-technique and performance are, in my view, leagues above that of Angela Hewitt.

Tchetuev's third volume is available in the United States at ArkivMusic.com, with international shipping as an option. The problem is that ArkivMusic hasn't linked it to anything yet - neither to Tchetuev nor to Beethoven. For some strange reason, it appears only as "Complete Piano Sonatas, Vol. 3" when searching all Caro Mitis releases. The direct link is below.

As for Tchetuev's (or Caro Mitis') instrument of choice, Stockfisch-Records has two SACDs also performed on a Fazioli grand piano: Patrick O'Byrne playing Ravel's Miroirs and Gaspard de la nuit, and a new one, Gergely Bogányi playing Chopin's Nocturnes.
